ERA REAL ESTATE URGES MOM AND KIDS: TOSS THE TIES THIS FATHER'S DAY
Leading Real Estate Franchisor Suggests Celebrating Dad with a Family-Friendly Retreat
June 13, 2012

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (June 13, 2012) – Because dad deserves a gift free of “Honey-do’s” and fashion “faux-pas,” ERA Real Estate is proud to suggest family-friendly home markets where dad can relax and your family can play. Not your traditional gift, a house in a location that caters to dad’s interests is an exciting way to honor him. However, if you know he will want to help pick the property, consider a vacation to one of these markets and meet with an ERA agent along the way.

The “Do It Outdoors” Dad
For dads who enjoy bonding with their kids outdoors, consider Bozeman, Mont. A gateway to Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman is a year-round recreational paradise. Fishing families have their choice of 14 nearby “blue ribbon” Trout Rivers or Streams. Other outdoor options include: hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and horse-back riding. Ski-in/ski-out properties, river front cabins and vintage downtown, historic homes are all popular in Bozeman.

“Bozeman is getting significant attention because it has so much to offer,” said broker Robyn Erlenbush of ERA Landmark Real Estate. “Sales are up ten percent versus the same time last year. Even our million-dollar plus market is starting to rebound. But don’t let that scare you. The average sale price is $286,262 which means getting a great deal in a gorgeous location is possible.”

The “Moths Ate My Tie” Dad
If you simply must buy dad a tie, visit Philadelphia, Penn., where he can really use it. Better known as “Philly,” this city is bustling with historic and cultural sites from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Boathouse Row. Famous music venues, world-class restaurants and sophisticated art galleries give dad a great reason to take along the tie. Catering to kiddies, Philly offers the nation’s first zoo and the kid-approved Please Touch Museum.

“Philadelphia is quickly becoming a real estate “must-see,” commented broker Jin Gao of ERA Aarch Realty. “In fact, our sales have increased 27 percent year-to-date versus the same period in 2011. And, while city dwellings are perceived to be expensive, the average sale price is actually $183,000. It is more affordable than you would think.”

The “Home Run” Dad
What to do for the dad who spends hours playing catch and watching baseball with the kids? Pick a property with a close proximity to major league, minor league or farm league baseball teams. Try Richmond, Va., and root for the Richmond Flying Squirrels, a San Francisco Giants farm club.

“Richmond is a great place to work and live and the Squirrels’ games provide a fun family outing with plenty of between-innings contests and activities,” said broker Jim Napier of Napier Realtors. “Home pricing is family-friendly too. The average sale price for 2012 is $206,522. It’s increased nearly four percent over 2011, indicating rising home values.”
