ERA SALES ASSOCIATES BUILD CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ERA® TOP GUN® ACADEMY
Course introduces new techniques to help increase sales production PARSIPPANY, NJ, July 15, 2002 - ERA sales professionals across the country have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of what it takes to be a top-producing associate by participating in the ERA Top Gun Academy. The course introduces new sales techniques to help associates increase productivity in their respective markets. Through classroom instruction, the ERA Top Gun Academy focuses on building skills to improve customer service by highlighting the areas of prospecting, presentations and skill development. It also offers new techniques to master working with expired listings and private sellers. Chuck Eskey of ERA Holly & Lewis Realty Co. in Danville (VA) recently participated in the Top Gun Academy for the second year in a row. "This invigorating course made me a better sales associate," said Eskey. "Role-playing exercises helped me to refocus and reorganize my creative energies. It gave me the opportunity to improve my customer service skills and discover new ideas for client follow-up." The course instruction is complemented by assignments that attendees complete outside of the classroom. As a result, each of the eight weekly, five-hour sessions, establishes objectives to be accomplished prior to the next session. "The weekly objectives and goals really motivated me to try new ways to approach my business," said Anita Gilfillan, a sales associate with ERA Advantage in Glendora (CA). "After 17 years in the real estate business, I found this to be the best course I have ever taken. The instructor really focused on everything real estate professionals need to know to be competitive in today's marketplace. I plan to take this class again next year." To graduate, sales associates must achieve five or more targets during their time in the academy. A target is defined as a listing, a listing sold or a personal sale. Graduates, who achieve ten or more targets during the course, earn membership into the elite "Top Team of ERA" and receive the recognition of their peers. Top Team members receive their wings, permission to feature the Top Gun logo on their business cards and an invitation to a special event during the ERA annual business conference. The Top Gun training program also includes a specialized course for managers and brokers. "The ERA Top Gun Management Academy builds on the areas of recruiting, market strategy and accountability," said Kathi Mathis, director of training. "The course focus is to provide a better understanding of the process needed to be successful in recruiting and managing sales associates, and increasing market share." Sales associates must submit an application and receive recommendation from their broker to participate in the ERA Top Gun Academy.
