ERA REAL ESTATE AFFILIATE PUBLISHES BOOK ON BALANCING A SUCCESSFUL REAL ESTATE BUSINESS &
REWARDING PERSONAL LIFE ERA® broker Nelson Zide offers tips to help real estate professionals have it all PARSIPPANY, NJ, April 9, 2003 – Broker Nelson Zide of ERA Key Realty Services in Framingham, (MA) has released a self-published book, How to Have a Successful Real Estate Business and Have a Real Life at the Same Time, which features tips and techniques for real estate professionals eager to build a successful career while enjoying a rich family life. "My 26 years of experience in the real estate business inspired me to write this book," says Zide. "One of the biggest problems for Realtors® is that they don't realize they can have a successful business and a great family life at the same time." Zide, who oversees eight offices and manages 175 agents, closes an average of 75 personal sales per year for a production of $10 to $20 million, and still makes time to never miss his son's soccer games or his daughter's recitals. Zide attributes his real estate sales success to developing and implementing good systems that deliver quality results. At the same time, he always puts his personal life first. He also notes that to create a successful work and home balance, it's necessary to adhere to a schedule by making appointments for tasks ranging from sales meetings to parent-teacher conferences. In an unusual professional paradigm shift, Zide schedules personal events before he books professional tasks. "You should plan around your family because that is what is most important," says Zide. "It's good for you, it's good for them, and the more time you spend with your family, the better your business will do." Zide also stresses the importance of creating business plans to build professional success. For example, he suggests that sales associates should regularly schedule prospecting time. In fact, Zide so strongly believes in the value of booking prospecting time he recommends that new agents invest at least one or two hours a day prospecting. "I have listened to lots of people, attended numerous seminars and courses, and have learned over the years what works and what does not work," says Zide, a member of the ERA Multi-Million Dollar Club every year since 1980. "My best personal advice is to put your family first. And my best professional advice is to get systems that work for you and put them into practice. It's the best way to have it all." How to Have a Successful Real Estate Business and Have a Real Life at the Same Time is available for purchase by e-mailing Zide at nelson@nelsonzide.com.
