One of the best resources in Northwest NJ are the farmer's markets. Some are held in an open area on a weekly basis and some are located in road stands and/or buildings that are kept up to date with fresh vegetables and baked goods. Also offered are locally sourced meats, while others combine flower and nursery markets along with their food offerings. Here are a few local ones, well worth knowing about:

The Garden Center is located at 224 Rte. 94, in Blairstown, NJ, and is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It offers fresh produce, fresh cider vinegar, homemade jams, fresh milk, cream, ice cream, meats, pastas and desserts.
The nursery has annuals, perennials, ground covers, vines, vegetable plants, bedding plants, hanging baskets, combination gardens, clay pots, soils, mulches, garden chemicals, tools, wind chimes, birdbaths, and much, much more. Race’s pick your own farm is located at 87 Belcher Rd., Blairstown. It's open from early July through the end of October. Crops available can differ week to week, so be sure to give them a call (908-362-8151) to see what they are offering for picking on the day you visit. Opened last year, this local cafe is a showcase for the nutritionally sound and delicious foods that Jeanny Race knows how to produce. They are located at 155 NJ-94, Blairstown, NJ 07825 and are open 7 days a week, from 7AM-6PM.
Blairstown Farmer's Market
Operated every Saturday, from June through October, the Blairstown Farmer's Market features a variety of local producers of locally grown and baked products. Nurseries and local "specialists" (think honey or micro greens)round out the offerings. Parking is free & easy: Outdoors across from Blairstown Elementary School
