Every day I discover something new in the Shenandoah Valley, from local mushroom farms to the growing wine region; so reflective of a once young Oregon Pinot Noir region, in Willamette Valley, where I grew up. Living on the West Coast I loved serving on the local Planning and Redevelopment Committees. I never tired of learning about land use and how the characteristics of individual properties influence the well being of communities. It was a privilege to serve on these boards and committees in the City of San Diego for many years. When the prospect of relocating to the East Coast came up, history was not at the top of my list as an interest. Boy, was I in for a surprise once I got here! Add in 300+ years of land use & planning to individual properties and there's a story to be told in each case, even if it's a new build, that land has history!
