Looking for a Job? Job Resources in Cedar City

    Apr 05, 2022

Have you recently moved to Cedar City and are currently looking for a job? The job search process can sometimes be a long and frustrating process, but the good news is that there are resources in Cedar City that can help make the job search easier and faster!

The Utah Department of Workforce Services

The Utah Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is a great resource for those who are currently looking for employment. The Cedar City EC/USOR Center is a DWS office that is located at 176 East 200 North, Cedar City, UT. In the “Cedar City EC/USOR Center” title, the EC stands for “Employment Center” and the USOR stands for “Utah State Office of Rehabilitation.” Some employment services for the general public (some programs are for eligible individuals) that the Cedar City EC/USOR Center offers are veterans employment assistance, job search assistance, career exploration, and more.

Next, some of the vocational rehabilitation services for eligible individuals with disabilities that the Cedar City EC/USOR Center provides are training, education, counseling, and more! For additional information about the Cedar City EC/USOR Center, check out the Utah Department of Workforce Services website

For Current SUU Students and Alumni:

If you are coming to Cedar City to be an SUU student (whether you are a full-time or a part-time student) or you are an alumni of SUU, SUU’s Career Center provides helpful services for your career development.

The Southern Utah University Career Center

The SUU Career Center offers a plethora of services for both SUU students and alumni. The services that are available to SUU alumni are getting help with: resume and cover letter writing, career decisions, and more!

Current SUU students can make an appointment with a member of the Career Center team to get help with writing a resume, preparing for an interview, searching for a job or internship, and more. SUU students can also make an appointment with a Career Advisor to get assistance with deciding on a major or career. SUU students can also sign up for a Handshake account where employers post jobs specifically targeted to SUU students.

Finally, each semester, the Career Center puts on a multitude of events (like the Career Fair Prep Nights and Career Exploration Workshops) as well as Career Center Fairs. The purpose of the Career Center Fairs (whether it’s the Local Job Fair, the Accounting and Finance Fair, or the Career and Internship Fair) is to provide students with an opportunity to meet with employers who are currently hiring!
