Allegany State Park Historical Society will be holding our monthly meeting, on Saturday, October 21st, at 1:00PM, at the Quaker Lake Bathhouse Conference Room.
TOM BERGSTUE of the "Mountain Cabin Outdoors" and "Lynn Legacy Game Calls" will be giving a presentation on the American wild turkey. Allegany State Park's turkey population was critical in the re-population efforts of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
The presentation will include several displays on the features of the gobbler and hen. There will be a lecture/demonstration and video on the behavior, vocalizations, and life cycle of this magnificent bird American bird.
Tom has a background in field biology, ownership in a game call company, and involvement with the NWTF. His wild turkey articles have been published in several outdoor magazines, and he has filmed television video productions on the wild turkey.
