I immigrated to the US from Sao Miguel Azores, Portugal in 1969 and obtained my real estate broker?s license in 1973 and worked for 5 years for a local real estate company before I founded Castelo Real Estate in 1978 at our current office location at 1815 Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford. By 1981, I obtained my Massachusetts Insurance Broker?s license and later opened Castelo Insurance Agency in the same year I started building new homes. In 1984, New Homes by Castelo, Inc was formed. In 1988, I joined the ERA franchise and became ERA Castelo Real Estate Inc., a top 100 company of the ERA franchise. I started Castle Mortgage Brokerage Inc in 1994 and united the companies into The Castelo Group.
I have built this business over the years to be part of The Castelo Group to cover all aspects of home ownership by including insurance and mortgages in one location for a true ?one stop shop? with additional locations in Dartmouth and Fall River.
