    BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The 78th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday, Feb. 28, just 11 days away. To prepare for the event, the city of Beverly Hills has announced that several partial and full street closures will take place near the hotel.

    Partial and full street closures will take place on Wilshire Boulevard, North Santa Monica Boulevard, and Merv Griffin Way. All residential streets will remain open, but various streets will be posted with no-parking signs. For more information, visit beverlyhills.org/goldenglobes.

    STREET CLOSURES

    North Santa Monica Boulevard:

    • Westbound: North Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed to westbound traffic from Wilshire Boulevard to Century Park East from 9 p.m. Friday, February 26 until 4 a.m. Monday, March 1. 
    • Eastbound: North Santa Monica Boulevard will be closed to eastbound traffic from Wilshire Blvd. to Century Park East from 9 p.m. Saturday, February 27 until 4 a.m. Monday, March 1. 

    Alternate Routes: South Santa Monica Boulevard will remain open in both directions

    Wilshire Boulevard:

    • The eastbound curb lane of Wilshire Boulevard, east of Whittier Drive, will be closed from 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 24 until 4 a.m. Monday, March 1. 

    Merv Griffin Way:

    • Merv Griffin Way will be closed to both north and southbound traffic between North Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard from 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 24 until 4 a.m. Monday, March, 1. 

    Whittier Drive, Carmelita Avenue, Elevado Avenue and Lomitas Avenue at Walden Drive, and Tenton Drive and the adjacent alley will not be closed to street traffic on Sunday, February 28, but all streets will be posted with no-parking signs. No parking signs will be valid until 12 a.m. Monday, March 1.

    PARKING RESTRICTIONS

    Parking will be completely restricted (no exceptions) from 6 a.m. Sunday, February 28 until 12 a.m. Monday, March 1 on Whittier Drive from Wilshire Boulevard to Sunset Boulevard.

    Parking will be restricted to resident vehicles with a permit or exemption code from 6 a.m. Sunday, February 28 until 12 a.m. Monday, March 1 on the following streets:

    • Carmelita Avenue from Wilshire Boulevard to Walden Drive

    • Lomitas Avenue from Whittier Drive to Walden Drive

    • Elevado Avenue from Wilshire Boulevard to Walden Drive

    • Trenton Drive from Whittier Drive to Wilshire Boulevard

    • Walden Drive from Santa Monica Boulevard to Whittier Drive

    • Greenway Drive from Sunset Boulevard to Whittier Drive

    Residents without permit parking can obtain a parking exemption by contacting the City's Parking Exemption Line at 310-285-2548 or online at beverlyhills.org/parkingexemptions.

    Anyone with questions and concerns before Feb. 28 are advised to call the Police Department Traffic Bureau at 310-285-2196. For questions and concerns on the day of the event, call the Golden Globes Hotline at 310-550-4680. The hotline is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and February 28 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 310-550-4680.

    The Golden Globes will air on NBC at 5 p.m. PT on Feb. 28. This year's awards will hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who also co-hosted in 2013, 2014, and 2015. This year's ceremony will mark the first time that hosts have broadcasted remotely: Fey will host from the Rainbow Room in New York City, while Poehler will be live rom the Beverly Hilton. Nominees will patch in from locations around the world.
