Mathew McDonald
I was born and raised Idahoan. Growing up in east Idaho my family camped and fished all summer long. Still, working hard was the fabric of life for the McDonald family. Often it included my older sister and I caring for our 5 younger siblings, helping with the garden, the yardwork, or tending chickens and rabbits. I mowed lawns for neighbors and from the time I was 12 years old until I graduated from high school I moved pipe, bucked hay, and worked in potato and grain harvests for local farmers. After marrying, I obtained my education including an AS Mechanical Engineering (BYUI), a BS Dietetics (Idaho State University), and a MS Food Science (K-State). (Online – while still living in Idaho!) After a successful career in food product development I decided to try something new rather than let the industry take me away from what really matters…my family and Idaho! Idaho is home – forever.
