Spread Positivity During "Captivity"
We're all aware of the unprecedented time we're in right now and we're ready for it to be over and done with. Sure, being stuck inside day in and day out for weeks and possibly months on end is a drag and boring, but who says we can't take this time to better ourselves and actually have fun? This is the perfect time to cook that gourmet meal you've been dying to try, but felt you weren't capable of or just didn't have the time. How about finally painting that mural in your kids' bedroom that they asked for last year? Or completely redoing your yard to have that at-home, garden oasis? Now's the time to do all the things you've been putting off!
How about starting a 30-day exercise challenge? Get in a workout of your choice every day and feel good about yourself - earn that body you've been wanting to have! Cook every single dish in the recipe book your grandma used to use. Maybe you'll love it, maybe you'll hate it, but what's stopping you from trying? Who knows, maybe you'll discover your new favorite meal!
Or, you can keep it lazy yet entertaining and binge watch all the shows you've missed out on - dare I mention Tiger King? Maybe you're already constantly on-the-go, a gym rat and a gourmet chef year-round, so take this time to relax and just be. There are a plethora of great shows on all streaming apps for you to indulge in - check out Netflix's "Top 10" list! You can brighten your day with some online shopping (if your bank account permits, of course)! Give yourself something to look forward to, you deserve it!
Have you thought about getting a pet, but having trouble committing? Foster one! All local shelters are looking for people to foster (at no cost to you), so this is the perfect time to finally make your decision. Take the time to download a new social media app and learn how to use it! There's always something new popping up, so try it out! Currently TikTok is all the craze and warning: prepare to go down a rabbit hole!
With all the negativity that COVID-19 is bringing, let's take it upon ourselves to spread positivity! Let's do our best to see the bright side of things and make the most of our time. Use this as a lesson to be grateful for all the small things - like real life Happy Hour! Lend a *sanitized* hand to your neighbors by picking up their groceries when you grab yours or mowing their lawn after you finish yours. However you can bring positivity and happiness to the situation, do it - after all, we're all in this together (alone)!
