If you're looking to live in a vibrant, lively area with rich history of Colorado Springs, the Old North End could be your vibe. The Central downtown area of Colorado Springs is full of history and artistic architecture mixed with a funky eclectic energy of our current times. The Old North End of town offers a variety of home sizes full of historical charm. Looking in this neighborhood you will find large beautiful 100+ year old mansions on Wood and Cascade avenues with wide streets. If you look hard you can still find a few old horse hitching posts in the front of some homes reminiscent of the days of horse and buggy when the homes were built . The areas surrounding the large mansions you will find moderately sized charming craftsman and victorian homes and even smaller railroad kit bungalows. These railroad kit homes are smaller quaint homes and they began suburban living in the older part of town. Kit homes came in on the railroad cars in boxes and were assembled on the home sites.
