My sons and I spent last Sunday morning exploring this beautiful preserve. The loop that we rode was about 4 miles long - a bit long for my younger son (he's 5) but the perfect distance on a bike for my six year old. Just a word of warning, it is a bit difficult to bike ride due to the sandy conditions that are natural to the preserve...however, my older son managed it quite well. Peaceful and tranquil, the trail was well populated with runners, bike riders, and walkers. Located in the very southern edge of Duval County, it is easy access for those living in Northern section of St. Johns County and the Bartram area. What a treat to be able to enjoy these natural green spaces amidst all the building and growth along that corridor of town. less
