On Thursday I met and showed around a curious couple from NY. I had visited their city many years ago and still to this day think of it fondly. This was their first visit to Tucson, I must say I feel like I'm a very good tour guide for my city; so yes, I wowed them! I started off taking them through our picturesque Barrio Viejo; we toured a home for sale there. The Barrio Viejo is one of my favorite neighborhoods to walk, its streets are filled with a sense of lingering history you can feel. I wanted to give them a feeling for the quickly changing landscape and type of home available in a fairly tight radius around downtown. Next we went to a newer home subdivision just a 1/4 mile west of Cholla High School. The home we visited was built in 1986, 1300 S Bison Drive looks like it should from the curb. We entered and were pleased with the freshness, open floor plan, etc. When we entered the backyard that's when we realized this one is different - the back yard is one of the most interesting you'll find. All I can say is you get a really good taste for what 3/4 acre feels like. We made our way back through parts of South Tucson, Iron Horse, Rincon Heights, Sam Hughes and Catalina Vista neighborhoods. All along the way I made sure to point out Local points of interest such as amazing local eateries, historic landmarks and eclectic shopping locations.
