A turn-of-the-century brick Victorian where the sellers' work brought the character back rather than covering it over. What was original is still here. What needed replacing has been replaced. The masonry: original brick reset with period-accurate mortar over a fully tuckpointed fieldstone foundation. Walls run three bricks thick, where two was standard for the era. Both porches rebuilt with original rooflines restored, pressure-treated framing and added concrete piers. Vinyl ceilings gave way to tongue-and-groove, painted on the east-facing covered front porch and stained on the screened porch above the pond. Inside, the original front door, hardware, transom windows, bedroom doors and dining room wainscoting and mantel remain. Framing is rough-sawn oak; floors original pine in the bedrooms, pecan on the landing, oak in the kitchen and 1st-floor bath.
